It's been quite a few years since I have seen This beautiful mother! I was pretty excited when she contacted me for a second round of newborn photos with her brand new baby. I typically do not photograph or edit a ton of black and white photos. Often times there will not be a single black and white photo in an entire gallery. But this family loves their black and whites so I did a color and black and white version of this session. I thought it would be fun to share both results to do something a little out of the norm. Posting both one after the other will be a fun little comparison.
As some of you know I took a few year hiatus from newborn portraits. There was a time when I thought I would never get back to photographing these beautiful babies. In truth, I have always loved photographing these squish balls of love but the industry started to make me loose my focus. All the workshops, the trendy props, and everything looking the same overwhelmed me. Babies became props somewhere along the way. Getting back into Newborn photography this time around I gave myself permission to simply do what I love and that is to simply photograph a baby! Striving for sleepy baby posing yet letting their real skin tones show through... sometimes the perfections are in the little skin imperfections that the industry says has to be fixed. I want to showcase the little person that these families love so much! With a soft simple white background we can focus on how gosh darn adorable this little guy is!
However, I don't completely go sans props! This little bundle had some beautiful crocheted goodies from his Grandmother that we had to incorporate as well as the moon picture for his Space Themed nursery and his father's babyhood stroller!
Maybe it's the season to be thankful, or maybe it is at the end of my busy busy season that I have time to reflect. But my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. After a couple years of stepping away from my business to focus on family I have been nothing short of amazed at how Spokane has embraced my business and my vision for photography yet again! Kim Stadler Photography went from 0 to 100 once again. All of this wouldn't be possible if I didn't have such wonderful old and new clients.
Thank you to the B family for the opportunity to photograph another baby of yours! And it was wonderful to see you again! Until next time!
