I have been a horrible blogger this last year. 2018-19 have been so busy on all fronts. Including having the most precious baby boy in the world!
When I was pregnant I was convinced I was having a girl. This is the first pregnancy that my gut feeling steered me wrong. I was so surprised when I found out my little bun in the oven was a boy! I was a tiny bit sad at first because decorating the baby's room is always my favorite part of pregnancy. I had visions of a girls room in my head! Let's face it, girls have the bulk of the cute stuff. So I had to get myself excited for a boys room. The current trends were not helping this endeavor. Everything is modern, with words graphics, colorless and geometric patterns. So just finding decor for his nursery was a HUGE challenge! I adore all things whimsical and baby-ish. I can't help it.
After returning home from our ultrasound at Sweet Pea Imaging (highly recommend BTW) I had a spark of an idea. Sky Writing...and with that I took off on decorating my sweet baby's nursery with a vintage air plane theme. Yes, air planes have been done a million different times I am sure. But I still love this little room. It was a labor of love, and it is so fun to see it completed. Not that my spoiled little boy has spend even one night in it so far!
I incorporated many special pieces in his room. His crib was my husband's when he was an infant. The rocking chair was the rocking chair that my mother rocked me to sleep in when I was a baby. And the little wooden lamp my husband made in high school shop class. It is a room that has so much sentimental value, love and memories. It is a feel good room. And it is perfect for my little guy to grow up in.
Enjoy!
