Addison's yearly birthday portraits were a lot of fun this year! Definitely a different twist from last year. This little girl is so cute and so sweet and since I photograph her a few times a year it was fun to do something a little different than normal. Her mom and I fully embraced this whole 5 business in part because the weather just would cooperate so we turned my sun-room into a studio and went crazy with balloons in Addison's favorite colors. And her newfound love for The Greatest Showman movie inspired her outfit. I thought it was all pretty perfect for 5th birthday photos!
And of course since we had given up on outdoor pictures the rain decided to give us a break for a couple hours so we ran over to one of my favorite graffiti walls in town. The Lorax is her favorite Dr. Seuss book (mine too) so this was definately meant to be.
If I were turning 5 I think this would be just about how I would want to do things! And in the process I got a fun filled afternoon with this sweet girl and her equally sweet mom! Thank you so much for giving Kim Stadler Photography the opportunity to photograph these special occasions and miles stones for you! Can't wait to see what her 6 year portraits hold, and I already have ideas!!!
Referrals really are the highest complement a small business owner can receive. Alexa's mom called me to schedule her senior portraits after I had photographed one of their friends previously. There have been quiet a few reoccurring themes this year with senior portraits. The first and most annoying is the smoke. Spokane as well as Montana, Idaho, Oregon and California have been under blankets of smoke during the Fire Season 2017. So I have spent the Summer coordinating with my clients to work around hazardous air conditions. The second is I have been photographing High School Seniors with their little fur babies. Which I LOVE! As a fabulous cat lady myself, I am always very excited to create portraits that include pets! When Alexa's mom Jena contacted me we talked about ideas for this session. A colorful downtown session that incorporated the colorful urban art of downtown Spokane was what Alexa was envisioning. Of course, since I love color I was very excited for a session outside of the locations and scenery I normally use (although I love those too!!!). So we finally got a break in the smoke and Alexa, her mom Jena, their adorable pug princess named Piglet and I went on a journey through downtown Spokane. We went on a search for a specific painted wall that we never did find. But in the process we had a ton of fun together and found some amazing backdrops. We stumbled upon a favorite alleyway of mine which is iconic in Spokane Washington. The Rock legends wall showcasing Jimmy Hendricks and Ringo Star.
This color filled session was a blast, Thank you so much ladies for the fun filled evening and thank you for choosing Kim Stadler Photography to photograph your senior portraits!
